Chelsea are not even the team that everyone wants to beat at the moment, a draw would be an achievement but with cup football, it just will not do. Chris Hughton is going to have to get his players to attack every ball and try and shake up the Chelsea players. With the possible exception of Ramires, the Chelsea side don’t appear too delicate and will not be easy to rattle. The most important thing that the Newcastle manager will be able to do is to motivate his players and convince them that Chelsea are not interested in this cup.
Midfielder Joey Barton completed his own three-match ban, but midfielder Cheik Tiote is now back after missing the game at the Reebok Stadium having earlier picked up his fifth booking of the campaign. Steve Harper who had a shoulder injury and Leon Best an ankle injury are closing in on returns, but Ryan Taylor injured ankle ligaments, Dan Gosling knee injury and Hatem Ben Arfa remain on the sidelines.

Newcastle United have slacked a bit in the table and gone down to 10th spot. They have to improve after they got beaten by Bolton 5-1 in their previous fixture. Chelsea has been having a miserable run in the EPL lately. They have won only one of their last four games loosing the other three. Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka will be looking to get back to scoring ways in the EPL.
